I got back on Tuesday evening, February 20. Had a great trip, but we had calm seas all the way. Even out to Robinson Carusoe Island, and to the Falkland Islands. I was expecting to encounter the famous greybeard seas around the tip of South America.

Did not get to see Cape Horn, as it was night time when we were close. Did see lots of glaciers, bars, penguins, pubs, small towns, cantinas, large cities, beer gardens, etc.

Oh, did I mention we stopped in for a few beers and Pisco Sours along the way.

Back to work now.

Welcome back, Bud. We missed you.

Randell 'Randy' Kocurek

Calm seas at Cape Horn,
You are a blessed man. Or did you really want those greybeard seas as you say?
Glad you got on the right ship and had a safe trip. Those poor souls on that Norwegian ship that hit the rocks must have gotten all your greybeard seas. Welcome home.

Frankly, I wanted to see this 578', 22,000 ton cruise ship stick its bow into the waves around Cape Horn, and have the water come up over the foredeck. I'm sure the Captain and the rest of the passengers did not look forward to that scenario. Ah well, can't have everything.
