Tuning The Rig

Don and Margaret Lacoste

Hi Bud,

I've been sailing my W-32 and over the last couple years she tends to go higher to wind on her starboard side over her port side. The mast was removed last winter and replaced again this June but she still points higher on a starboard tack. Is this a characteristic of the vessel or is my rig too tight on one side?

Don - Maybe that's because both you and your boat are right handed. Otherwise, I don't know why, but you should ask Kern or Dave King. Maybe they can answer it. Probably has to do with sail trim.
