Thank You, Pat & Bud

Ellipsis

I'm really late in saying "Thank you" to Pat Tilson and Bud Taplin. We had a very nice rendze...round-up in Vinoy Basin. 3 32s and Mike's 43. I should remember all the names and boats and so forth, but I don't. You'll be old someday, too. Lots of idea stealing and drinking and eating and so on. Longest trip was by Jean Bourgeous from Ottawa, looking to buy a boat. Shortest was Jackie and me. We sailed around the Pier (maybe 500 yards). We got to go out on Pat's boat. He had the new wind suppression unit going and it worked fine. We also got out on Sunday (those of us who didn't leave early!) on Ellipsis and had a very nice sail, thanks to Kern and his new sails. With Kern's sails the 32 is a pure joy to sail in 7-10 kts of wind, a condition I had always cussed before. Jean commented that he had heard that a Westsail needed 15 kts to move, but now he knew better. Thank you, thank you, Kern! It was, as always, a good time, getting together with friends who share the dream.

FLASH... Large inventory of used sailboat equipment, parts & supplies at great prices. After a 10-year circumnavigation in a Westsail 43, the owners are now clearing out all the excess and getting back to life ashore. Outfit your boat with well-kept equipment and save yourself a bunch of cash in the process!
