Propaine Tank For WS 43

Jeff Malmgren

Hello I just purchased a 43 that had the old shipmate kero stove and I am in the process of putting on a new Force 10 I can't seem to find a good and Easy spot for the deck box...
any... Pictures sugestions...

The W43's normally used the lazarette for the propane locker. There can be a drain hole at the floor through the hull to vent any leaking propane.

I have a Westsail 32 "Database", and a bad Starboard fule tank. I was considering removing it and installing a propane locker there instead. Any suggestion's or better idea's?

Obtain the smaller diameter vertical propane tank (about 6" to 7" in diameter) and then get a piece of PVC sewer pipe that the tank will fit into. Get end caps for the pipe. Figure where you want the tank to be under the deck, and cut a hole in the deck to fit the tube, and fasten in place. Obtain a flush plastic deckplate to seal the hole in the deck. Be sure to add an overboard drain to the bottom of the tube.
Alternatively, you could fasten this tube to the port boom gallows leg instead, then a tube drain hole in the bottom endcap would be overboard.
