SQ FT FOR BOTTOM PAINT

Don Montgomery and Lana Nelson

Hi Bud,

Time to hual out and paint the bottom. What sq ft number should I use when buying bottom paint?

Ken Schatz

Don -

We just did Ellipsis' bottom. If you are careful 2 gallons of Trinidad will give you 2 coats and about a tablespoonful to spare

Norm Rhines

Don:

We use about 1 Gal and 1 qt per coat. I am not as careful, and we do the bottom of the keel (Also I have a fin that takes five extra teaspoons to cover)

A note: the quart and a small roller work good for when they move the jack stands, just a FYI. Have been using trinidad but this year we will try an alblative.

Hope this helps:

Depends on how well you roll out the paint, but a gallon plus a quart should be sufficient.
