Roller Reefing

Has there ever been a group buy for a Roller Reefing system for the Yankee? What are the systems that work best in your opinion and why? I'll soon be looking for one, so thanks for your help.

I purchased a Furlex system from Kern and installed it my self -- I'm happy with the unit after 4 years or so - though I'm not a heavy duty sailor.

You might get off with less expense if you used roller furling rather than roller reefing as I doubt there's ever a need to reef the yankee (I don't think they generally come with reefing points either). People hate the old Mariners - I still use mine and like it a lot because hank-on sails make changes easier. When the day comes to replace them, I'll probably use the Facnor wire furlers because I'm sold on hanked headsails--- see 109%2Ca,http://www.facnor.com/uk/main.asp?url=http://www.facnor.com/uk/products/ our_products/default.asp&f=2,67,,109,a

After a 10-year circumnavigation in a Westsail 43, the owners are now clearing out all the excess and getting back to life ashore. Outfit your boat with well-kept equipment and save yourself a bunch of cash in the process!
