Caprail Sealant

Edward and Susan Crawford

I am digging out the caulking under the edges of the caprail. It appears the PO used a silicone sealant like for bathtubs in places. I plan to use 4200. Is this ok or is there something better? Thanks

Jay Bietz

Hi: I was able to fix the leaks only by removing the caprail and filling in the void with Life Seal not fun but I don't have leaks.

Try searching the forum for this subject.

Oops -- sorry Bud this your spot -- and I used Life Caulk not seal...

Bud Taplin

The 4200 sealant should work fine.
