Broke A Boom

Gerald Astrella and Cathy Calisch

Broke the boom on old Glorious crossing to Hawaii. It was the original seldane. Need replacement. What do you recommend on replacement and what's the best way to get it to Hawaii? Thanks, Gerald

Norm Rhines

What part of Hawaii are you on?

You might call them on Monday, they seamed helpful at the last boat show I attended.

They may have something left over, and are familiar with the W32 mast and boom.

Air freight is normally cheaper than sea. But it still costs $$$.
UPS Ground comes to Hawaii, but buy air (just shipped on the mainland by ground) FYI

Hope this helps!

Gerald, I answered your post earlier, but I do deal with LeFiell, and can get a boom blank, but the end fittings of your Seldane boom probably would not fit. I could get the boom blank, and the end fittings, and you could adapt your gooseneck to it, and install the bails from your current boom.
Freight fowarding companies take stuff to HI regularly by sea, and it takes about a week in travel time from delivery to their warehouse in So Cal to you in HI.
