Stern Pulpit Installation

scott caskey

I recently acquired a stern pulpit from another Westsailor and I'm having a small problem finding just the right position for installation. If I place it where I believe it belongs based on the footprint I have an inch or two interference with the vane on my Aries, and if I slide it forward to accommodate I am interfering with Tiller travel. Any recommendations before I start bending metal?

I think you just have to play around with the location to arrive at a good compromise. Is it possible to move the Aires vane slightly aft?

looked at it this morning but only considered shifting the entire assembly, which didn't appear to work, I'll look closer tonight to see if the Aries can move back on it's tubes. that would be a good fix.
