Perkins 4-108 Injector Equivalency

scott caskey

I cracked the flange on #4 injector and am attempting to R&R with a different Model injector. Trans Atlantic Diesel shipped a Model BG (C.A.V.) injector and assures me it is equivalent to the Model YB (O.M.A.P.) which is what I removed. The return line bolt was threaded differently so I am replacing it as well. My concern is the two models have different setting pressures per my version of the Perkins Workshop Manual. Will this create a timing mismatch or does the pressurization rate make the firing time difference negligible.

Sorry, I do not have the expertise to answer that question regarding the Perkins engines. You would need to contact TransAtlantic, or some other qualified diesel mechanic.

OK, thanks Bud.

I used this company to rebuild my injectors and injector pump. They are an authorized Perkins dealer and I found them to be very knowledgeable.
Give em a call!
Good Luck!
