Borg Warner Transmission

Don Montgomery and Lana Nelson

Bud, Can you help me with these questions??

A couple of questions for a perkins 4108 with a Borg Warner transmission.

1. My transmission leaks fluid out of the the top breather when I fill it to the full mark on the dip stick. Anybody else have this problem? How full do you fill your transmission? Do you check the level with the engine running?

2. What type of transmission fluid do you use? The previous owner used "Type A" and I am also using the same.

Thanks for your help.

Type A transmission fluid is the correct one. Best check with a Borg Warner dealer to determine how full it should be. I have the BW manual if you do not have a copy. Which model BW transmission? Most were the Model 72, but some later engines used a Model 1000.

Mine is a 72 model. Please send me a manual.

Thank you.
