The bowsprit attachment seems to be very different then Pygmalion #567 ..

And looks like a lot of work and $$...

Wow... that is one sad boat. It reminds me of a story I read in childhood about a neglected racing horse, brought low by cruel and indifferent adults...

Hope some young person with a lot of time and energy finds her, or maybe a kindly older person with LOTS of money!

It does answer my question about painting work work, though :-)

If the seller is correct and latex paint was used over varnish (or any other oil-based product), the paint will not adhere --- peels off like sunburn. The rule is oil over oil and water over water. But oil-based paint will stick - I have our cap rail painted - no chips, no peeling. Still, to see the condition of this boat inside and out is a bit depressing. Hard to believe someone would let such a beauty turn so ugly. Yes, LOTS of money whether a youngster or an oldie gets her - a tired engine is a 3K to 5K rebuild (cheap) and a replaceemnt is 10, so his 5K to bring her to "as new" is a pipe dream.

I hope my neighbors in the shipyard got the boat. I know they wanted to look at my boat for comparables. They'll be good stewards if they did.
