Flying A Spinnaker With Roller Reefing Jib??

Brian Smith

I may have a buyer for my spinnaker here locally- but Johann (Pegasus, early model W32) has roller reefing, and apparently only 2 halyards/sheaves? If I can tell him how to fly this thing... I think I've got a buyer...

Anybody else flying a spinnaker with this setup??

Aaron Norlund

To fly a spinnaker on our boats, you must add a bail and block above the jibstay. Otherwise the halyard chafes horribly on the stay.

Bud has bails that bolt to the top of the mast for under twenty bucks.

Ahhh, knew there had to be some deep, dark secret!
Thanks Aaron- Bet that'll swing the buyer around~

After a 10-year circumnavigation in a Westsail 43, the owners are now clearing out all the excess and getting back to life ashore. Outfit your boat with well-kept equipment and save yourself a bunch of cash in the process!
