Companionway Hatch

Bud.........
I've been through the Service Manuel and all the "Ask Bud's" and can't find anything on this. The brass bars on the underside of the companionway hatch seem to have worked away the the teak rails they are supposed to slide in (ie the hatch slips down and jams) I think I can fix this but have no clue how to get the hatch off without tearing everything up. Any thoughts?

There should be two stop blocks on top of the teak rails ahead of the hatch. Remove these stop blocks and slide the hatch forward to remove it. I have some pages in the original Westsail construction manual (Manuel no longer works for me, he went back to Mexico) that describes this construction. I can send you the pages if you contact me directly.
