Sail Sizes W42

Ivan and Jane

Can anyone please tell me the sail sizes & areas of a W42 Ketch 1974

I am looking around for sails. Found Bacon and Associates online this morning. Annapolis area sail brokers. They offer a search engine for yacht manufacturers. You may just want to google up "Bacon and associates sails" and go to their website. Then enter Westsail and they have an incredible list of the specifications on the mains and jibs on all the westsails, it would appear. That may help. Good luck. You might even find a good sail cheap.

I would just recommend to be careful of buying too large a sail. We just sailed down the E coast of Florida with our genoa (don't actually know if it's a 150 or 135 but it is just too damn big. We switched it out for what looks to be close to Kern's supper Yankee and will let you know how it went once we cross to the Bahamas. Right now waiting wx in Marathon, Fl.
