Hi Bud and fellow Westsailors!

My Velvet Drive transmission has been in and out of the boat 6 times - the mechanics discovered some parts that needed replacing. They were replaced, the engine and transmission ran fine for a few hours and then I started loosing power. That's when the problems really started. After trying repeatedly to get things going the mechanics now believe the transmission casing was damaged and needs to be replaced!!

Does anyone have or know of someone with a casing? I don't need the gears and bits inside since most are new... I am in Singapore so cannot come and inspect the casing so we'd have to find a way to do this with trust and some payment agreement.

Please, anything will help even some ideas for what to look out for.

FLASH... Large inventory of used sailboat equipment, parts & supplies at great prices. After a 10-year circumnavigation in a Westsail 43, the owners are now clearing out all the excess and getting back to life ashore. Outfit your boat with well-kept equipment and save yourself a bunch of cash in the process!
