Hello Bud from Glorious in P.V. and need your advice. Transmission/reduction houseing leak at rear shaft. Older Borg with 4 in. dia. coupling and removable seal ring. Shaft coupling is a split type flange with 2 bolts and set screw. Packing gland is PYI dripless. Approx. 1 1/2 in. of free shaft between end of shaft coupling and gland rotor. QUESTION: Assuming all nuts and bolts can be removed, do you think I can pull the shaft back, remove the shaft coupling, the trans. coupling, nut and ring in the water? Of course you are not responsible for any action (or lack there of) on my part. If not or if any other suggestions?

FLASH... Large inventory of used sailboat equipment, parts & supplies at great prices. After a 10-year circumnavigation in a Westsail 43, the owners are now clearing out all the excess and getting back to life ashore. Outfit your boat with well-kept equipment and save yourself a bunch of cash in the process!
