Tom and Dana Stiffler

My W32 Devon's Whisper had a Triumph 2000 furler by Spin-Tec uninstalled. I had a rigger install it for me. He was loath to do so as he really did not like the system with no halyard and the attendant difficulty in changing head sails. I have not used it but its simplicity really appeals to me. I have the optional head sail accessory should I decide to change my head sail. I have had two other boats both ketches with furler head sails and never changed a headsail in years of coastal sailing. I had bearings seize on both and once about 30 years ago had to cut down a frayed genoa in 30 knot winds in Smuggler's Cove Santa Cruz Island when the head of the furler jammed with threads from the frayed genoa cover.[Actually my girlfriend went up in the bosun's chair, knife in mouth, and kicked out to the headstay to cut it loose...she became my wife soon after this daring feat]. My question is, has anyone had experience with this system? If so your review would be helpful. Cheers. Tom
