Frank,

You should be able to slack the stackpack lifts all the way off and let the pack sit on itself. Bring the legs down low so you can pull the cover over it. It would be ideal for long term, but sitting in a nice anchorage, it should be fine. Maybe use a couple sail gaskets to hold the cover on top of the boom, if it's wanting to flop off the side.
