I just removed the boom from my staysail and got a new Yankee (and Mainsail) from Kern so now I'm going to need new jib bags.

My current jib bag allows the jib to remain hanked on. However, The way it's made I have to remove the halyard (I just clip it to the lifeline/stanchion).

I've noticed some pics where it looks like the bag is made so it can not only remain hanked to the stay, but the halyard stays attached to the sail as well.

Or is it that the halyard is just attached only to the bag to keep it handy & the bag off the deck? (see the 'CAPER' on Buds website)
