Mike,

The problem with Craig's List is there are no legal obligations by either party. With eBay, if you are scammed, eBay covers lost moneys and prosecutes the perpetrator.

Fred,

Sounds to me like the person who was bidding the vane so high was a scammer and eBay knew it, canceling your listing to protect themselves from having to fulfill a possible hoakie obligation. No one with any sense of windvane value would bid $3150 for an old Aries. New vanes are that cost.

I'd just relist it.
