This probably sounds crazy, but for the first year we had the boat, we ran the running back stays and the jib sheets through each others' blocks. That was how the previous owner had left it. This gave a horrible lead on the sheet winch and made the running backstays less effective. we were very close to remounting the winches when we figured it out. I remember the previous owner apologizing for not having done it yet, he had already purchased cantered teak pads to change the lead on the winches and everything. Embarrassing but true.

FLASH... Large inventory of used sailboat equipment, parts & supplies at great prices. After a 10-year circumnavigation in a Westsail 43, the owners are now clearing out all the excess and getting back to life ashore. Outfit your boat with well-kept equipment and save yourself a bunch of cash in the process!
