I was interested in the marelon seacocks so I read some articles on the internet about them. apparently if they are not maintained properly they freeze up just like the bronze with the exception their handles tend to break while you are trying to free them. then you are stuck with whatever position the seacock was in..open, shut partially open.
the flanges on the newer seacocks use a three hole pattern. the old grocos use two. the thru hulls are not bolted to the boat they are screwed into the seacock which is bolted to the boat. anyway the new seacocks wont work with the existing bolt holes.
