Hello Bud,

Say we are finalizing the drawing for the rudder frame for the rudder of our W42. I am basing it on the drawings in the construction manual and a copy of the rudder cross-section drawing.

Q: Do you recall the thickness of the SS plate used? While the drawing does not say, the scale says it is about 1/2" thick. Does that sound right?

Q: Also, we are considering using 2" solid shaft material instead of the schedule 80 SS pipe for the rudder post/pintle. The idea is with this diameter we can easily fit a 2" cutlass bearing in the gudgeon shoe. Do you see any problems with this?

Thanks!
