Bud, a couple questions if you dont mind <g>

- Did the 42's have a bearing sleeve in the gudgeon where the lower end of the rudder fit? (According to drawings, it looks like there was not.)

- In your opinion, would a bearing sleeve be recommended?

- It appears the rudder post/frames were fabricated from 2 3/8" OD stainless tube. Do you recall the ID?

We are getting ready to fashion both the gudgeon and rudder post/frame, both out of stainless. If a bearing sleeve is recommended, we would have to account for the extra diameter in the gudgeon.
